by Sally Foster (follow)
Making Rainbows is a program designed to teach your little one about music, movement and sensory play

Baby Sensory classes are a wonderful way to bond with your baby, and open them up to another world of music, movement and sensory play. It is also a great chance to make some Mum friends in your local area.

Run by qualified childhood experts, each class will stimulate your child’s social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical development. Aimed at ages 0 to 4 years, each class has been designed with age appropriate activities in mind.

Baby Classes are for bubs aged 0 to 12 months, and aims to foster the bond you have with your baby in a gentle and relaxing environment. Teachers use scarves, rainbow parachute, ribbons, hand held instruments, therapy balls, sand, water, bubbles and many other resources and props for sensory play.

Mixed Age Classes are for young toddlers to kindy aged children. These 40 minute classes includes singing, dancing and playing instruments. Your younger toddler will love watching and mimicking the older kids.

Making Rainbows believes in an inclusive practice for all students, and welcomes children with special needs to participate. See here for more information about what to expect.

As well as having so much fun, laughing and learning, your little one will also be learning lots of new skills like language, social, emotional, fine and gross motor, mathematical and pre-literacy skills and basic music concepts. It is a great way to get them ready for school and to find things you can do with them at home.

You won't miss out either Mum! Parents also participate with their children in the program by singing and playing instruments and other fun props. There is nothing better than watching your child break out into a beaming smile as they learn something new. And remember, there are no bad singers!

After class, parents are encouraged to stay for coffee and a chat so it is a great chance to get to know the other parents a bit better. It is also a good opportunity to discuss anything with the teacher.

Making Rainbows offers a trial class for $20 before having to commit to the term. Weekly sessions: are $17.95 per class. A 10 week term costs $179.50 incl GST. To book a trial, see here.
