Places To Eat Out With Kids In Brisbane City

by Sally Foster (follow)
Places to take your kids out in the city where you can relax

Eating out with kids can be really daunting, especially when you are in the city and surrounded by corporate suits, girls out for glamourous nights out or hipsters in their super cool outfits.

Here are some places in Brisbane City that won't judge you for bringing along your kids, and that your kids will actually enjoy going to.

Do you need updated family photos?
Brisbane Crochet Club will host two very special kids crochet classes during the winter holidays that are perfect for children who would love to learn a new hobby.
Jamie's Italian

Jamie's Italian is hands down the most family friendly dining experience you can have in Brisbane City. They are incredibly kid friendly, while still offering delicious food that is definitely not boring. And even healthy.
Their kids meals come in two different sizes, so the little kids can have a smaller meal size than the bigger kids. They have some really great food options, including Happy Chicken Lollipops, Mini Spaghetti and Meatballs and Secret Seven Gnocchi.

Kids will also get a colouring page on arrival and they run mid week specials. If you are driving into the city, make sure to ask about their free parking at Post Office Square on weekends.

Location: 237 Edward Street, Brisbane
Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday 11:30am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 10pm and Sunday 11:30am to 9pm. Closed everyday between 2.30-5.30pm

The Bavarian

If you head to the Bavarian for lunch, it is very laid back. With great views of the river as it is right on the waterfront at Eagle Street Pier, this german restaurant has a dedicated kids menu with lots of interesting options. This includes chicken schnitzel, mini brat hot dog or grilled cheese. They also have yummy gelato as a treat. Kids also eat FREE every Sunday!

Location: 45 Eagle Street, Brisbane
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday 11am to late

The Pancake Manor

Who doesn't love pancakes? While it may not be the most 'glamourous' option, when you are dining out with kids, we are used to this!

The Pancake Manor is a Brisbane staple and serves up more than just pancakes. They also have breakfast, a grill menu and the kids menu makes pancakes even more fun than usual, with funny faces and caterpillars.

The Pancake Manor is open 24 hours a day, so if you wake up at 4am with your toddler, why not go and grab some very early morning pancakes! Another bonus to the Pancake Manor is that it is nearby to the Botanical Gardens which has a great children's playground.

Location: 18 Charlotte St, Brisbane
Opening Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Vapiano

Vapiano is another laid back Italian restaurant with a great kids menu in the city. They have a relaxed atmosphere, mid week specials and the pasta is made fresh right in front of you. This is great for keeping kids entertained!

Location: 191 Albert Street, Brisbane
Opening Hours: Open 7 days 11am to 11pm

Comuna Cantina

If you are a lover of South American cuisine then Comuna Cantina is for you. They have a great kids menu perfect for 'the little juans' where kids can get mini tacos or chicken bites. They also have a huge cocktail menu for the adults. Comuna Cantina is South American street food in a really fun and vibrant setting which the whole family will love. Be sure to check out their specials for when kids eat free on a Sunday.

Location: 175 Albert Lane, Brisbane
Opening Hours: Open 7 days 11am to late

Miss Kay's Burger Bar

If you love nothing more than just a really excellent burger, than Miss Kay's is the place for you. Nearby to Brisbane Square, Miss Kay's has authentic American burgers, shakes and fries and kids will love the booths and laid back setting. They will also love the really over the top desserts, if you as a parent can handle the inevitable sugar high.

Location: 185 George Street, Brisbane
Opening Hours: Open 7 days 11am to 8:30pm. Friday and Saturday until 10pm.

Shingle Inn

On the first Monday of every month, the Shingle Inn hosts Littlies High Tea especially for children. It is a wonderful and very special occasion where you can bring along your child to the teddy bear afternoon tea and feel really spoiled. Bookings and pre payment is essential.

Location: City Hall, King George Square, Brisbane
Opening Times: 11:30am to 3:30pm first Monday of each month.
