An indoor play centre with a difference
Let's face it, when it is raining and you have a toddler or a child at home, the day can seem rather long. My normal routine of walk and park in the morning and backyard play in the afternoon is stopped in its tracks.
I love going somewhere fun that is indoors, where my son can run around rampart and I can also sit back with a coffee. Somewhere that is not a shopping centre or a library with all the crowds!
[Link https://www.tiddlywinks.com.au/ ] is located in Nundah on Brisbane's northside. It caters for children aged 0-11 and of course, their parents. There is a three storey playground for the older kids and a baby and toddler area for the younger ones.

The three storey playground has a triple slide, places to climb and jump, a tunnel slide and a ball air thrower. I have to confess that I got there at opening time and brought my sixteen month old in there, and he had so much fun! But adults aren't supposed to go on the slide and it can get a bit hectic with older kids once it has been open a few hours.
The baby and toddler area is small, but has some fun things for the younger bubs to do. There is a little castle and slide, plenty of age appropriate toys and a heap of bouncy animals, which you can also purchase at the shop.

The best part about Tiddlywinks is the twice daily disco they hold. I didn't know what to expect and I was blown away by the enthusiasm of the staff who ran it. The dance floor is huge and they turn on disco lights and really make it a unique dance experience. They sing along to popular kids music like The Wiggles and favourite Nursery Rhymes that the kids can dance along to. Tiddlywinks is a great place to meet up with a mother's group, as they have a cafe which serves up healthy and delicious food and coffee. There is plenty of seating and high chairs, and because it is full of children, there are no expectations like at some cafes to keep your little ones perfectly clean and well behaved. You can truly relax and kick back with your friends, or even bring along your partner on the weekend, and genuinely enjoy some food and coffee.
Tiddlywinks is a great place for a birthday party, there is a dedicated room for the party and children can take part in the discos. It is a great idea to take the stress and mess out of a birthday party and let someone else do all the planning. If you come along to a birthday party but left your present at home, never mind. Tiddlywinks has a shop where you can buy a range of children's clothes, toys and games. Including the ever popular bouncy animals which I literally could not resist. They also sell disposable nappies and bibs and socks and undies for any emergencies.

The thing I love most about Tiddlywinks, besides the fact that it is somewhere fun to go on a rainy day, is it fully caters to the Mums as well. They sell excellent coffee and baby food and they have facilities that other places don't. Things like, a high chair in the toilet so you don't have to stress! Just one of many things I never had to think about before becoming a Mum.
