I don't know about you, but to me, nothing quite beats a roast dinner on a Sunday. Whether I'm back home in England in the blistering cold climate or sweating from every pore here in the "Sunshine State", I can always make time for a roast dinner with all the trimmings.


So here are 5 awesome roast dinners that are available in Brisbane, and although there's no leftover meat sandwiches to be had for lunch the next day, there's no question that a roast is definitely more enjoyable when you're not the chef!


Brewhouse, Wooloongabba
Let's say you've had a pretty big Saturday night on the town and funds are running low, sleep off your hangover and then get yourself down to Brewhouse. For just $16, you can enjoy a roast dinner, a dessert and a soft drink - yes, for just $16! And if you think the cheap price represents poor quality, you couldn't be more mistaken, the food here is delicious!



Pig 'N' Whistle, Riverside
With it's strong British theme, it would be somewhat of a crime to not have a killer roast on the Pig 'N' Whistle menu, and their lamb roast is pretty darn good. With seasonal veggies and a large gravy filled Yorkshire pud, it's like a little bit of England on a plate.



The Fox Hotel, South Brisbane
If you're after a roast that does exactly what it says on the tin, then make sure to check out The Fox Hotel's classic Sunday roast. Great cuts of melt in your mouth meat, fresh seasonal veggies and a delicious gravy, no fancy extras- just a great, hearty meal. And priced at just $19, it's an absolute bargain!



Hop and Pickle, South Brisbane
With a different meat served up every Sunday, Hop and Pickle in South Brisbane have taken the traditional roast dinner and made it better. With duck fat potatoes (yum) and perfectly cooked veggies, for just $25, you can enjoy a classic Sunday roast amongst the Southbank hustle and bustle.



Fox and Hounds Country Inn, Wongawallan
Okay, so we cheated a little, as this one is technically not in Brisbane, but it's worth the journey! The Fox and Hounds Country Inn is famous for its English and Irish themed restaurant and bar, full to the brim with memorabilia and traditional decor, but aside from that they also make a mean Sunday Roast! You can choose from the classic cut of meat, roast potatoes and veggies or go for our favourite - 'The Giant Yorkie' (served after 5pm), all the glory of a roast dinner but served in a giant Yorkshire pudding (swoon)!
