GumFest 2026 rolls into the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha on March 22, 2026, marking National Eucalypt Day with a nod to Australias favourite stick-in-the-muds, the gum trees. Its a laid-back family affair in the Australian Plant Communities section off Mount Coot-Tha Road in Toowong, where you can wander spots you probably havent bothered with before and pick up facts on these towering gums and the critters they keep in business, from talks to guided walks.

Kids and grown-ups alike can muck around with hands-on stuff like nature journalling, turning eucalypt leaves into dodgy fabric dye, or saying gday to some sassy flying foxes that might eye your picnic. Nothing too flash, just a chance to geek out on botany without the hard sell.
