No man, or woman in this case, is an island and we can't always go through this whole motherhood journey alone. We need friends, family and health practioners to help us along the way. We may even need a little more support from professionals and other Mums.
So if you are struggling as a Mum, or even just feeling a little lonely and disconnected, then Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness is a wonderful resource in Brisbane. It is a safe space for parents and their families and aims to promote a positive culture around parenthood and emotional wellbeing. They help support perinatal wellness by education, social action and building a caring community.
You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April at New Farm Park.
There are locations on both sides of the river and they offer support to Mums, both during their pregnancy and up to two years after birth.
Some of the services that Peach Tree offers includes:
Weekly groups where you can share in a non judgemental space
A six week parenting program for mothers experiencing or at risk of experiencing postnatal depression
Fun activities like yoga, choir and baby song time.
Peach Tree also hold an annual Vintage Gala. A very dear friend of mine attended last year and said it was absolutely wonderful. It is a fundraiser for Peach Tree to ensure they can continue providing such incredible support in the community.
Peach Tree is 100% peer led where all staff have a history of perinatal mental illness. They work in partnership with professionals and health care practitioners. So you can be assured the people helping you are qualified.
