is a hands-on session where kids poke around real animal specimens to figure out what makes critters tick, from their quirky features and adaptations to the big animal families and how they slot into ecosystems. Theyll suss out how habitats keep the wild world spinning and shape survival tricks, with each go-round spotlighting fresh beasts and their homes.

Its pitched at 6 years and up, though parents call the shots and the Spark Lab setup works for any age. Entry sets you back adult or participating child at $10 each, non-participating kids free, plus $12 for Spark Lab if youre not a member or nothing with an annual pass. It happens at Queensland Museum Kurilpa Spark Lab on Grey Street in South Brisbane on May 1, 2026.
