The Friends of Mary Cairncross Association invites the community to come along to the
Bring Back the Mullet public talk, to learn about the distribution and habitat needs of the Land mullet (
Bellatorius major).
Land mullets have not been seen in the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve for thirty years. Research is critical as to whether this charismatic reptile will recover and thrive. The
Bring Back the Mullet public talk will explore what recorded observations tell us about its habitat requirements, including where suitable habitat may still exist and how we might manage environmental threats.Â
Guest speakers, Vanessa Moscato, Director of Novel Ecological consultancy and Tony Bright, a highly respected fauna specialist with a passion for the ecological integrity of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, will share a fascinating perspective of a species recovery project, specifically re
'Bringing back the Mullet’.
