A relaxed lunchtime stroll through Fish Lane in South Brisbane, where First Nations artworks do the talking and the streets quietly absorb all the good stories. Rachel Bywaters will be on hand to chat about her newly installed public piece, and the tour starts in Town Square with a warming cup of lemon myrtle tea. From there we'll wander past about 58 nearby public art sites, each only a few minutes' walk apart, and finish at Judy Watson's Tow Row sculpture at the entrance to the Gallery of Modern Art. Comfortable shoes recommended, highbrow art commentary optional.

Expect short stops and easy walking, suitable for all ages and everyone who can handle a gentle cultural saunter rather than a sprint. Along the way you'll hear about the cultural meanings behind the works and the people who made them, and every participant will get a little gift bag with native-flavoured treats and a keepsake magnet. Please arrive on time since the tour leaves promptly at 12.30pm. Meeting point is Town Square, Fish Lane, and we end at the Tow Row sculpture outside GOMA. Bring a water bottle, hat and umbrella because the route is mostly outdoors and weather does not consult our schedule.
