A fun, family-friendly morning to support conservation on the Sunshine Coast


Come along and join in for a fun, family-friendly morning of planting koala habitat at Tuan Environment Reserve in Kenilworth.

The Restore and Reconnect: Koala Habitat Community Planting Day is part of the Sunshine Coast Council, Traditional Owners, Land and community groups’ ongoing efforts to restore koala habitat, strengthen wildlife corridors and bring local families, schools and volunteers together to support conservation on the Sunshine Coast.

What happens at the Community Planting Event?
•FREE family-friendly event
•Planting activity
•Sausage sizzle
•Information stalls including:
•Detection Dogs for Conservation

No experience is needed, just bring your energy and your enthusiasm!

Help to plant native species to support koala habitat


What do the organisers provide?
•All tools, plants, gloves and guidance will be provided

Important ‘stuff’ to bring and to know -
•Please bring your own drinking water and snacks
•Wear enclosed shoes and sun-safe clothing
•Safety briefing/planting demo is required before planting
•Please check in at the registration desk on arrival
•On-site Parking

Bring your family and friends to this fun, family-friendly morning at the Tuan Environment Reserve, where children and adults alike can connect with nature, learn about local ecosystems, and help plant native species to support our environment. The aim of the Restore and Reconnect: Koala Habitat Community Planting is to plant 1,500 native trees, shrubs and ground covers.

This event is funded by a Queensland Government initiative to Restore and Reconnect koala habitat across SEQ. The program is administered by Healthy Land & Water and delivered by Sunshine Coast Council, Traditional Owners, Land and community groups.
