Kites will soar and skip across the Autumn skies at this year's Brisbane Kite Festival 2023 for a family fun day like no other.

The Festival will return on Sunday 20 August 2023 from 10:00am to 3:00pm and this community event is presented by the Rotary Clubs of Carindale and Balmoral in conjunction with the Brisbane City Council.

As well as watching the skills of the professional kite flyers, the public is welcome to bring their own kites and fly alongside the masters.

This year the Festival will launch the kites at a new venue - Tingalpa Model Aero Club at Stanton Road West Tingalpa, overlooking the beauty of the lake.

Parking is available at:
• Kate St, Preston Road car parks and it's a short walk through our beautiful Minnippi parklands.
• Park onsite (1000 vehicles)
• Street parking Greystone St and surrounds.

Admission to the Festival is free admission.

While the kites are certainly the stars of the Festival, you can also enjoy:

Hand-made toys, useful items for the house, Christmas glass decorations from the Carina Men's Shed;

A display of model aeroplanes from the Tingalpa Model Aero Club

Rotary stall sausage sizzle and a variety of food trucks including Alba Japanese, Bill's Burgers, El Corazon Mexican and London Spuds;

Find your next read at the Brisbane City Council pop-up library;

Face painting for the kids
