Welcome to our new series - Meet My Suburb! Your one stop shop for useful information regarding Brisbane suburbs.

This week we're focusing on Holland Park, the perfect compromise of city living, whilst still feeling like you're in the 'burbs'.

Holland Park Hotel

It's hard to believe that with it's quiet leafy streets and array of classic Queenslander and post war homes, Holland Park is just 15 minutes from the CBD.

With its close proximity to Brisbane city and two major shopping centres, as well as easy access to the M1, Holland Park is proving to be a popular destination for families, young couples, and pretty much anyone who is looking for the best of both worlds.

  • Parks and Playgrounds
There are some great parks and playgrounds in and around Holland Park, one of our favourites being Glindemann Park in Holland Park West. This all ages park spreads across 6.9 hectares and has two entrances, one off Logan Rd and one off Lawn St.

As well as a bike path, basketball court and beginners skate board ramps, there are also two seperate playgrounds, both designed for different age groups. The play areas are both partly shaded and built upon soft land flooring and fine wood chips. Play equipment includes various swings, walking bridges, slides, a flying fox, climbing web, musical zone, spinning spaceship, plus loads more.

There are sheltered picnic tables and BBQs for use on site, as well as a toilet block and free council wifi.

For a full list of Holland Park's parks, playgrounds and dog parks, head over to the Brisbane City Council Website, C.B. Mott Park is also a firm favourite with locals.

    Leisure
Holland Park and it's surrounding areas are the perfect place to fill all of your leisure needs. Retail wise, there are a few strips of shops around the actual suburb that are home to trendy cafes and boutique stores, as well as the Mount Gravatt Homemaker Centre , which features an abundance of home shops, a chemist, bank and a Bunnings Warehouse, all just 5 minutes away.

You have two major shopping centres less than a 15 minute drive away, Westfield Carindale and Westfield Garden City. Both are filled with shops galore, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, as well as cinemas and a soft play centre.
