The perfect app to find your Mum friends
As a new mum, I learnt pretty quickly that having other mum friends close by, was as critical to my wellbeing as showering occasionally and remembering to eat.
But what if none of your friends have kids? Or if they do, they don’t live in your area?

Mush is a location style app where you create a profile for yourself with a bit about you and your baby, where you live, and an adorable photo. Mush will then show you connections of other ‘Mushers’ around your local area.
You can take a peek at the profile of mums closest to you and see if you have anything in common. Maybe you have a baby the same age. Or both love yoga. Or you just happen to live in the same street.
If you think you could be friends, you send out a connection request. The other musher has the option to accept your request, then bam, you have a little chit chat through the app and decide if you want to meet up IRL.
Mush gives you some ideas of where you can meet your new mum friends. It filters by location some nearby parks, cafes and kid friendly venues. The app will let you share your favourite places as well.
Helpful hint: most mums love coffee as it keeps us ticking over. Suggest a coffee date and I would happily be your friend. Especially if the cafe does a triple shot as their stock standard.
I have made some lovely mum friends through this app, including a weekly park meet up that keeps growing. It’s amazingly easy to bond with just one common link. Your conversation starter is sitting right there, gurgling away on the picnic blanket beside you.
If you are new to an area or don’t have a mothers group, Mush is another way of getting to know some of the mums you probably walk passed every morning on your daily please-go-to-sleep-walk.
Go on, put yourself out there! As scary as it can be dating for friends as a grown up, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
